Photo Blog

Portfolios are great, but a story is in the sequence of images. In between the weddings and family shoots I post here, I'll toss in some photographer's thoughts about equipment, software and industry. Please add your email to my blog list to receive updates when I add new content- never more than one update email per week. Thanks!

Kelsey and Nick at Rock Creek Gardens

One of the best parts of my job (there are many) is that I get to know my clients on a personal level. With this connection, there's a mutual investment in how enjoyable, fluid and successful the wedding day will be. Happy, fun couples make for happy, fun photos. We scouted the Rock Creek Gardens a few months prior to the ceremony and talked over ideas. We also talked at length during the engagement session [1 and 2] and then after the rehearsal and it was wonderful to see how it all played out on the wedding day...  the first look under the archway, photos along the dry steam bed, bride and groom shots on the small island in the pond at sunset, the tire swing and playground and Kelsey's grand entrance into the amazing ceremony were among the many we were able to achieve.

These two were happy the entire day and supported by great family and friends. Thanks, Kelsey and Nick, for having us along.
